A day in the life of Tom Doherty

Tom is our Sales Director and the person that keeps us busy and on our toes….

Let’s find out more about Tom…

Wake up time?

Around 6am, but I go to bed early.

What do you have for breakfast?

For breakfast, I have porridge & honey

First thing you do when you get into work?

If I’m in the Galway office, it’s a cup of tea followed by an update from Javier, that’s always a good start to the day.

What project(s) are you working on?

I have just finished 2 new signings, Ruby’s Pizza & Grill and Lawlor’s Hotel in Naas. Now I’m working on some hot prospects including a national hotel chain and a restaurant group. I’m also finalising some tenders for TnA on E-Tenders for public procurement.

Silence, radio or Spotify in the background when you’re working?

Probably some chat show on the radio but I’m easily distracted.

Favourite work colleague?

They’re all so wonderful I couldn’t possibly answer.

What’s the best bit about your job

Our team, everyone is so helpful and customer focussed. It’s a small team so there’s always an opportunity to get involved in other areas and learn new things, and of course in sales, nothing beats closing the deal.

Packed lunch or take out for lunch?

As I am often on the road, it will normally be a takeout for me.

Favourite thing about working for PW?
I’m very lucky that every day is different. I sometimes work from home or else in our Galway office. I also try to get out on the road meeting customers about 3 days a week so I get lots of variation and meet loads of great people.

How would your work mates describe working with you?

Hopefully that I’m relaxed and easy to get on.
