A day in the life of Jamie Hamlet

Meet Jamie Hamlet, one of our developers based in the coolest office in Birkenhead. Let’s find out more about him…

Wake up time?

I don’t really have a set time unless my daughter is with me and then it’s whenever she deems fit. Sadly, on occasion, this can be around 5.

What do you have for breakfast?

I don’t eat breakfast.

First thing you do when you get into work?

Check I haven’t broken anything from the release the night before. I follow this up by screaming at myself in the mirror to get pumped up for the day.

What project(s) are you working on?

Currently working on a few small projects in addition to any issues that come in throughout the day.

Silence, radio or Spotify in the background when you’re working?

Spotify is a must – I’ve been known to do full days listening to Abba on repeat.

Favourite work colleague?

Andy Chalkey hands down. His optimism and positive outlook on life constantly help push me on through the tough times. I don’t think anyone in the office has ever heard one complaint from him. He’s never afraid to come and ask for my help when he needs it (which is often).

What’s the best bit about your job?

The people I work with.

Packed lunch or take out for lunch?

A little bit of both. I’ll usually have tuna and rice every day but this can get a little tedious after a while. When this becomes too much to bear I’ll opt for a sandwich or push the fellas for a trip to spoons.

Favourite thing about working for PW

The ping pong table. It has transformed me from a mediocre competitor to a viable candidate for the Olympic Games. Handing out crushing defeats to my colleagues brings me and the office great happiness.

How would your work mates describe working with you?

A truly dreadful experience.
